Mission Statement: It is the mission of the Health Care Center to ensure quality health care in a homelike environment and to provide for the health, welfare and safety of the individuals that reside at our facility.
The Clark County Health Care Center (CCHCC) is a 178 bed Medicare Certified Skilled Nursing Facility and a 28 bed Certified Facility for the Developmentally Disabled located near Owen. For over 85 years, CCHCC has been serving the health care needs of the mentally ill, developmentally disabled and elderly individuals of our society. Because health care is always changing and evolving, specialized programs have been developed to meet the needs of specific afflictions such as Alzheimer's or a related dementia, Huntington's Disease and intensive rehabilitation services.
CCHCC has taken pride over the years in developing and maintaining a close working relationship with other Clark County agencies. This was never more evident than in 1985 when CCHCC was merged with what was then referred to as Clark County Unified Services to create the Community Services Department. Adult Development Services, Health Care Center and Community Services provide a wide array of services to Clark County residents in an efficient, cost effective manner. Cooperation between departments is excellent and duplication of services is minimized.
As part of the Community Services department, the oversight committee for the Clark County Health Care Center is the nine-member Community Services Board. This consists of five County Board supervisors and four appointed members from the community. The Health Care Center Sub-Committee is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility and consists of the five County Board supervisors from the Community Services Board.
There are three major revenue-producing programs ongoing at the Health Care Center. These are: 1) Nursing Home/FDD (inpatient services); 2) Therapy services including Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy services (outpatient services); and 3) Community Programs including our Adult Day Care Center and Community Outreach Program (outpatient services).
Employment opportunities are usually available for individual disciplines such as Certified Nursing Assistants, Registered Nurses, and Licensed Practical Nurses. Refer to our ads in the Clark County newspapers for current openings or call our Business Office and request an employment application.
Clark County faces enormous challenges in the years ahead. We can take pride in the fact that Clark County is second to none in the State of Wisconsin in its local human service delivery system. Through the cooperation and coordination of the human service related agencies of the County and the commitment of financial resources, Clark County is uniquely positioned to meet the present and future human service needs of its citizens.
